New Rugby Arrivals

I have been shopping at Rugby Ralph Lauren ever since it came out in 2004 (it's in New Canaan so I visit a lot). It is a little bit edgier than my taste, but I still like a lot of their merchandise. Here are some of the cute items from their fall line!

Woolen Button Cuff Sweater
I just adore crewneck sweaters of any kind.

Suede-Trimmed Hacking Jacket
Isn't this cute? Rugby jackets are usually pretty small, and I always have to have the arms taken up (I think my arms are unnaturally short....).

Herringbone Market Tote
So cute! I may be biased when it comes to tote bags, but I actually love this. It looks perfect for winter!

Herringbone Skull Ballet Flat
There's also some ballet flats that match the tote bag! I've never tried Rugby shoes before (just because they're relatively new and they don't have much variety), but these look fantastic.

What items do y'all like from the Rugby new arrivals? Let me know!

Resort Fashion

Today I am completely inspired by the book Resort Fashion.

I love this book. I got it last spring when I had seen it before in a decorating store with my mom. It's huge and has so many fantastic pictures that make you want summer to never end!

I got an award!

I'm so happy! Thank you so much The Sailor in Pink, this means the world to me! I joined the blogging community because I was inspired by all the extremely sweet and lovely preppy bloggers out there!

Okay. So apparently, once the award is received, I link back to the award giver and thank them,  I list 7 things about myself (this'll be hard!), and then pass on the award!

1. For the past two years, I have gotten surgeries in the fall on my feet! I had bunions, which have the reputation of only being on older people, but they are actually hereditary. Relatives on both sides of my family have them, so either me or my brother was bound to have them! Now they're pretty and straight but with the consequence of a titanium plate in them!

2. I love art. Art history, drawing, fashion, design, anything. I love it all. My dad and his side of the family are all great artists, and I've (thankfully) inherited that gene! My mom majored in art history in college, as well. Now, we're not one of those artsy-fartsy type families, but I do love a good project once and a while. I love decorating things and every year for Christmas I draw my mom something!

3. I really love traveling, but I hate flying. It's horrible. I'm always deathly afraid that the plane is going to crash. Hopefully I will get over this! Before I die, I would love to go to Greece and Egypt. They just seem so exotic and beautiful so maybe I'll go someday!

4. I have a charm bracelet that I wear everyday from Tiffany's that I got for my 8th grade graduation. It currently has 9 charms on it: the "Return to Tiffany's" circle charm, an "H", a candy cane, the Eiffel Tower, a horse shoe, a sun hat, a turquoise Vespa, a cross, and a palm tree! It's one of my favorite things in the entire world!

5. For the past 3 summers, I have been working at a barn in WY called Jackson Hole Theraputic Riding Association. It's a barn for mentally/physically/emotionally disabled people (mostly children). I absolutely love volunteering there. First off, I have been around horses almost my entire life, so working with them is easy. But, I also love working with the kids. It's such a rewarding opportunity and you definitely see things in a different perspective.

6. My biggest crush in the entire world is on Matt Bomer from the TV show, White Collar. I think I lost all emotional ability when I found out he was gay...

7. I own about 37 Lilly Pulitzer dresses. Should I be proud? Is it too much? Whatever the explanation is, I am truly obsessed. I blame it on my mother...she was dressing me in Lilly when I was a little girl and the trend has lasted me my whole life!

Now, I tag other bloggers to receive this award!!

1. The Preppy Pink Blondie
2. Katie from Let's Be Preppy
3. sCe from Summer Wind
4. YSP from My Life as a Young Southern Prep
5. Atlanta Yankee Belle

Thank you so much, The Sailor in Pink!

New Lilly!

Today, after my audition (which went great!!), my mother and I escaped the sweltering heat by going to Splash of Pink. If you ever are in Westport, CT, go to this place! The owners are so nice and so is everyone else who works there. We all had fall on our minds so here are some of the adorable things that I'll get to look forward too!

Lulu Dress Printed Cotton
Love it! This was featured in one of my first posts on my favorite Lilly Pulitzer fall 2010 items. It's absolutely adorable and fits like a dream. It makes your waist look itty-bitty!

Half Moon Crop Pant in Hotty Pink
This is the newest addition to my Lilly active wear collection. It's pink!! I tried them on and they fit really well, just remember that they will be tight. They're like a second skin - but really comfortable! I would wear them to work out this week, but it's too dang hot!

I also got the Main Line Pant Printed Cord in True Navy with Bells on, but I couldn't find a picture online! Here's a link, though.

Gloria Cable Sweater
I love this!

And lastly, I got an adorable bubblegum pink bikini!! I'm so happy!!

Have y'all had any good Lilly finds? What has everyone gotten from the fall collection? Let me know!

Clean-up

Hello Everyone! I got home safely and it is so hot and humid here! I'm dying. I have to be at school tomorrow for an audition for my school play (wish me luck!) and I don't know how my hair is going to handle this weather. It's torture! Anyway, since I am back in my CT bedroom, I realized how horribly messy I left it. I am usually OCD about my room, and right now it's driving me insane! I've already gone through 1 trash bag and 3 full of clothes and shoes. There is just too much that I do not need. I've been waiting for this day for a while!

Hopefully by Wednesday my room (and closet) will be perfect! Have a great night!

Bon Voyage!

And I am off! Before I spend 6 hours on a plane to Atlanta and then another 3 hours to NYC, here's a spotlight on an adorable Vineyard Vines skirt!

Whale 5 Pocket Skirt

Okay, who else thinks this is adorable? I usually don't wear skirts/dresses in the fall/winter, but I think I'm going to start wearing more! Especially when they can be as cute as the Vineyard Vines skirt as shown above!

Have a great Sunday!

Airplane Playlist & My New Favorite Movie

Here are some of my current obsessions in terms of music! Please forgive me for some of the choices, I may be girly but my music taste is definitely not!

Also, while I was packing up everything this morning, I watched the cutest movie!

"27 Dresses"! It's been out for a while, but I'm in a "Chick Flick" movie watching phase and I decided to watch it. I LOVE IT! It's so cute, and James Marsden is just adorable. Everytime I see Katherine Heigl in something, I like her more and more. I definitely recommend "27 Dresses"!

Have a great day!!

Kate Spade Jewelry

While Kate Spade is mostly known for their to-die-for bags, I adore their line of jewelry! I've given up on J. Crew (in all aspects), so now I've moved onto Kate. It's all very clean, pretty, and classic looking! Unfortunately, it's a bit expensive, but I enjoy a good eye-candy once and a while!

Metropolitan Pearls Necklace
They have a great supply of faux pearl necklaces!

Moon River Double Pearl and Bow Necklace
This is my favorite necklace featured on the website. I have a trillion strands of pearls in my room at home, but these are so cute!!

Park Avenue Pearl Earrings
One of my closest friends gave these to me for Christmas last year, and I wear them all the time! I like how they have (faux) pearls and diamonds on them, and they're just so pretty!!

Park Avenue Pearls Silver Bombay Ring
Love, love, love! This ring is basically the earrings before in ring form.

All Wrapped Up Bow Ring
I think this is just too cute! It's so girly!
Hit the High Spots Idiom Bangle
Take a Chance Idiom Bangle
Small Idiom Bangle
I love bangles. I have extremely tiny wrists, which is usually a good thing, but I normally can't find bangles that will stay put!
Park Avenue Pearls Charm Bracelet
I'm thinking that I really like this Park Avenue collection.

Have a good weekend, everybody! I just spent the past half and hour packing for the flight back home. I'm wearing Lilly on the plane, though!

Redecorating Part 2: Fabrics and Colors

When decorating a room, the base of it all, meaning the furniture, is obviously extremely important. But, what is equally important is the fabric and colors that accent the given furniture. It sets the tone and allows you to be creative. Now that I have furniture out of the way, I have to find the perfect bedding, rugs, and accessories for my bedroom. It will be adorable in pink, green, and white. I haven't decided on what shade of pink (there are so many great shades!), but I do know the type of things that I want in my room.

If I could marry a rug, I would marry this one. It's from the Lilly for Garnet Hill collection, and it's absolutely adorable. It goes perfectly with my vision, and it's Lilly. How much better can it get?

What's good about finding things that I like all from the same collection is that the colors are going to match. This is basically the rug in pillow form, and I'll have no woes about color choice because it fits right in...

...As does this "Tickled Pink" throw. It looks so soft and girly!

I'm about to show y'all some of my favorite bedding. Hopefully, I can recreate one of these beds!

I found the ultimate bedding (It's shown in the picture above to the right). I am ecstatic right now. I need to get my mother and convince her about the bedding. It's called Paradise Patch and IT'S SO DANG CUTE AND GIRLY AND LILLY! Don't worry, I'm just freaking out a little.

I like the idea of monogrammed shams. I'm a sucker for anything monogrammed, as y'all know. But, I haven't made any decisions on anything else concerning bedding.

These are some pillows from PB Teen, and they're really cute. I would probably get it in green since basically the entire room I want will be pink!

Do y'all know of any good interior design websites or cute pink and green bedding? What do y'all think about this "dream room"? Let me know!

I hope y'all have a fantastic weekend! I only have 2 more days until I'm on an airplane to CT so I'll be making the most out of it!

Obsession: Equestrian Style

One of my favorite kind of "preppy styles" is the equestrian look. I used to ride for about 4 years but it took up a ton of time that I didn't have so I had to give it up. But, since then, I have become even more obsessed with the riding look and horses. I work at a barn for disabled children over the summer, so I get my horse fix in then, but the wintertime definitely calls for the equestrian style.

I love, love, LOVE this picture. It's of Gisele Bundchen and her sister, and I love their clothing. Of course, you really couldn't wear this outfit unless you actually were a horseback rider, but a girl can dream.

This is a photograph from the newest issue of Vogue of Charlotte Casiraghi. She is Grace Kelly's granddaughter (Princess Caroline's daughter). She's 24, a fantastic equestrian, and sponsored by Gucci!

Speaking of Grace Kelly, this is a picture of her in an old-English equestrian get-up in the movie, "The Swan".

Who doesn't love Betty Draper's wardrobe? She is played by January Jones in the fabulous show, "Mad Men".

Now, get ready for the huge collection of Ralph Lauren pictures I have involving equestrian style...

I love this outfit! It's very preppy, in my opinion. I would kill for the riding boots, and I adore the bag and the scarf!

This is from the Ralph Lauren Spring 2008 collection. It's theme was centered around a horse race, and it had a couple of jockey inspired outfits, as shown above.

The two ads above were from the 2008 Blue Label collection and it is still my favorite Blue Label collection to date. I love the polos, the boots, the accessories, the styling, everything about these looks. When I was in 8th grade, I had to do a yearlong project that "proves a point", and I chose how Ralph Lauren revolutionized fashion. At the end of the year, I did a fashion show with all of my friends and I wore the "Blue Label Equestrian" outfit. I remember that I wore a mens blue oxford button down, a scarf with horses on it around my neck, jodphers, and my friend's tall riding boots. Things never change!

I envy this outfit. I will hopefully be able to put it together this fall!

Also, I created a Polyvore account so I can show my outfits heading into the new school year. Here's the link, and I hope everyone has a fantastic day!!
