Back to my roots (literally)...

I have had many trials and tribulations concerning my hair, and finally, I think I'm done with the drama that is my hair.

As you can see, when I was little I had very blonde, preppy, girly, cute hair. Perfect for then but then the colored changed...

...into this. Blonde but not brown but kind of a mix. This was when I was 14 (when I had awful bangs but you can't really tell in this picture because they're pulled back by a headband).

This picture is from July of this year (when I was 17). It was perfectly blonde and the length was getting better (I'm trying to grow it super long) and it was PERFECT but then disaster struck...

Yesterday I went to the hair salon to get my natural color back, through right now it's a bit darker than how it used to be. The initial shock has worn off but I'm still not used to seeing my somewhat "natural" hair color again. I saw my best friend last night and she said that she really liked it, but I'm so not used to it! I feel so serious now with my new-found dark hair!

What do y'all think? Let me know!!

Have a great day everyone!!

Is the shopping world conspiring against me?

I cannot for the life of me find navy flats.

It's actually really annoying! I don't have any black clothes, except for the usual LBD, so I bulk up on navy everything for fall. The only problem is I don't have any cute navy flats to match my outfits!!!

I wore these last year, and now they're unrecognizable as shoes because there are so worn down.

I found these Vaneli Serene navy flats off of Zappos because they were literally the only wearable navy flats off of the entire website

Do y'all know any good stores for navy shoes?? Let me know!!

Have a great day!

Cute new fall buys!!

Hello!! I hope y'all are having a great September so far!! I have been getting busier because of college stuff (post to come later this week!), extracurriculars, and schoolwork, but I'm not crazy stressed yet (thank goodness!!). Last week was great, regardless of the fact that it was the first full week of school, but because Connecticut started to turn into chilly fall weather!! Finally!! The humidity here was so annoying (I was getting so aggravated at my hair looking so bad all of the time) and the new fall clothes are so tempting!! Here are my new purchases for fall!!

Rugby Classic Crewneck Cable-Knit
J. Crew Classic Leather Ballet Flat

J. Crew Leather Tipped Bell Skirt in Beige

J. Crew Perfect Shirt in Blackwatch plaid

Lilly Pulitzer Cassie Slub
What have y'all bought for fall? Let me know!!

Have a great day!!

Style Inspiration: Sarah Vickers

One of my recent preppy style inspirations has been Sarah Vickers, the girlfriend of the famously preppy Kiel James Patrick. She has the perfect wardrobe. Honestly, I covet every outfit I've seen her in. Here are some of my favorite pictures of her and her fabulous outfits!!

Have a great day everyone!! This is my first full week of school and I have a dance callback this afternoon for my school's fall production of "The Pajama Game". Wish me luck because I am a very slow learner when it comes to routined dances!!!

Tommy Hilfiger

I haven't browsed the internet for clothes in a couple of weeks...and now I understand how much of a problem it creates. I went on to Tommy Hilfiger's website the other day and I am officially obsessed with the men's and women's fall items. They are SO PREPPY and SO CUTE.

In love. Plus my name starts with an H. It's meant to be!

Finally some cute argyle sweaters!!!

I love all of this!! What do y'all think? Let me know!!

Happy Labor Day!!

Hey y'all!! I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend before summer ends and life starts up again. School starts tomorrow and I am actually ready to get back! Unfortunately, I feel completely unprepared because I have not organized any of my school supplies! Everything is just lying around on my floor because I've been super busy (we moved!) and disorganized.

I finally picked out what I'm going to wear on my first day back today! My best friend came over and she made me try things on and we succeeded in picking me out a good back-to-school outfit. My school's dress code changed this year (which is good and bad at the same time) so I get to take advantage of the "no-collar" rule that starts tomorrow! But, the bad part of the new dress code is that girls have to wear their plaid skirts to their knees!! All of my school skirts are hemmed and hopefully the teachers won't make me make my skirt longer.

The senior girls are also going to decorate all of our cars together sometime this week which will be fun!! My friends and I already have some funny things planned to put on our cars. Then, on Thursday morning we leave for a "senior retreat" for 2 days. It's basically a team bonding camping trip where we "set our goals" for the entire year. It doesn't seem to be too bad!!

For everyone in high school, good luck this week!! I hope everyone has a great day!!

I'm back!!

But I'm still totally busy.

It also doesn't help that "hurricane" Irene caused a total loss of all power where we live in CT. 3 very large trees fell down around us and we still don't have power or water!! This is day 5 without them!! It's killing me. So, we've been in a hotel since Monday night and I'm ready to go home!

This is also my last week before school starts. I cannot believe next Tuesday will be my last first day of school!! I'm so excited though. I have our senior campout and retreat to look forward to! I'm also going to decorate my car with all of my friends to show off that we're seniors. We're just trying to have as much fun as we can before the next 3 months of nonstop studying!!

Besides studying, I have to finish my college application essay, apply to college, and then run the 4 clubs I'm the head of this year. The best part is that my best friend and I are starting a Baking Club at our school!! We're raising money for charity (St. Jude's) through bakesales!! I'm so excited!!!!

I'm going to take a ton of pictures during my senior year so get ready for lots of posts!!! I hope everyone has a great day, and for those who live in Connecticut, I hope y'all get power soon!!
