Keep Calm and Vote for Rom

This may come as a shock for y'all....but I'm a Republican (haha). If it wasn't too obvious from my Twitter, I am just a bit political and I am very excited to vote in my first presidential election on the 6th! In honor of this huge election, here are some of my favorite GOP-themed goodies. Enjoy!

I'm dying. I love these. I have a pink and green GOP elephant bumper sticker on my car, but these tumblers are TOO CUTE!!

I am obsessed with the Lilly print "Tusk in Sun" and it has been released in perfect timing for the election!

This elephant ring from Etsy is precious!

I think that pretty much everything from the Rowdy Gentleman is hilarious, especially this "R-money" pocket tee.

Just to note, I'm not trying to alienate anyone who doesn't hold the same beliefs as me. These are just really cute political themed items that I thought y'all would enjoy!

Have a lovely day!

Lilly's Back!

Okay. I'm very happy about Lilly Pulitzer's new resort line. It's very "Lilly" (FINALLY) and just really, really cute! Here are some of my favorite items from the new collection!

(VESTS YES!!!!!!)

What do y'all think? I have the Lookbook and there are a lot more cute items coming on in the next couple of months. Is Lilly (slightly) returning to its roots? Let's hope so!
Have a wonderful day!

Obsession: An Ode to Vests

I kinda have a thing for vests. As in, I wear them at some point every single day. I don't know when I came to own so many vests or why I wear them so much, but I just think they're great. They're SUCH a perfect fall item! It's an in-between weather period here in Winston-Salem and vests are ideal for the indecisiveness!

The color of this Vineyard Vines vest is so pretty!

I'm addicted to this fleece Vineyard Vines vest. I have it in a couple of colors and I wear them way too much.

Rugby has had this down vest for the past couple of years and I love it!

The suede hunting patch on the shoulder of this Rugby jacket is great!

This J. Crew vest is very popular on the Wake Forest campus!

I think the herringbone vest from J. Crew is so unique! Definitely not like any of the other vests I've posted about!

What do y'all think about vests? Have any favorites? Let me know!

Have a wonderful day!

I am locking myself away for the next two weeks in my usual study spots so I can study myself away into oblivion. All of my classes are on the same test cycle, so nothing is spread out; all of my hard work falls in the same 2 weeks. I am determined to make good grades on my upcoming exams and essays, so I'm going to work crazy hard!! Here are some of my study/organization tips!

I write everything down in my planner. I color code it, I use stickers, sticky notes, I write to-do lists...my planner is packed. I highly recommend using the Lilly for Lifeguard Press stickers! I loooove them because they are super cute and they have one for every occasion.

I am a huge fan of to-do lists. I like seeing what I have to do and I like crossing off what I've finished!

I handwrite all of my notes instead of using my laptop. It helps me pay really close attention in class instead of getting distracted by Pinterest or Facebook. I write a lot of notes (usually 3-4 pages per class), and I just had to get another binder because I couldn't fit everything in my original binder anymore. Writing things down is my way of absorbing the information. Whenever I need to memorize something, I will write it down a ton of times and then I'll have it memorized!

For tests, I like to type up all of my notes into one study guide. Then, everything is in one place.

I like to print the study guides out, then read through them while making lots of notes in the margins. I'll highlight everything and basically dissect the whole study guide.

As always, I'll have my good friend Starbucks to keep me wide awake!

Do y'all have any study or organization tips? Let me know!!

Wish me luck! I'm basically super busy for the next two weeks but I have a lot of posts queued up for y'all! I'm sorry I haven't been posting as often, I've been at a loss for inspiration and it's been crazy here at Wake! Have a great weekend everyone!

State Pride Lilly Style!

I haven't posted anything about my favorite Lilly Pulitzer in a while, so here is an extra special dose of Lilly! There was a contest a few months ago on the Lilly Facebook page where people could vote for the states that should have their own print. The winners were North Carolina, South Caroline, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Virginia! The prints are now on my favorite Murfee Scarves.

South Carolina

North Carolina

While I'm sad that there isn't a Tennessee or Connecticut printed Murfee scarf, I've made do with the North Carolina print!

I'm crazy obsessed with Murfee scarves and I finally broke out the NC one yesterday!

What is y'alls favorite state print? Any that you want to see in the future? Let me know!

Have a great day!

Best Weekend Ever!

Phew! I had the busiest weekend ever and thank goodness I had a TON of fun!!

Friday night my group of friends and I had a Halloween party where we carved pumpkins and watched Paranormal Activity. We were supposed to have a scary movie marathon but we got too wrapped up in hanging out!

Saturday I got up bright and early for a fall themed day party at an off-campus fraternity house. I went with two of my friends and I had a lot of fun!

In the afternoon I went to my friend's house about 30 minutes away from Winston-Salem. His parents invited everyone over for dinner. It was so nice to be in a real house with parents and kids! So different from college!

I went straight to a huge Wake event called "Seize the Quad" after I got back from my friend's house. It was basically a huge party on the upper quad! The fraternities had tents around the quad, and at 12 the lounges opened up for regular parties. I met a ton of wonderful people and actually had the best time ever!!

What am I doing today?? WORK. I am so tired and I'm on my second Starbucks but my exhaustion is totally worth it!

What did y'all do this weekend? Let me know!!

Obsession: CCADesign Bow Ties

Hi y'all! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. I want to tell y'all about an adorable brand on Etsy called CCADesign

The lovely shop owner Caroline started out by making bowties for her son, and she now has expanded her business to Etsy! My favorite bowties featured are in Lilly Pulitzer fabrics. They're perfect for your father, brother or boyfriend!

The bowties are inexpensive and are super cute. Even better, you can match your Lilly dress to the bowtie since the prints are relatively recent! There are a ton of guys here at Wake Forest who wear bowties to gameday, and I know a lot of guys at other southern schools wear them around as well.

Check out CCADesign and like Caroline's page on Facebook!

What is y'alls favorite printed bowtie? Let me know!

Have a great day!

What to Wear with Cowboy Boots

I am a huge fan of cowboy boots! I have two wonderful pair from Jackson Hole and I love wearing them. They're perfect for dressing down a sundress or adding southern style to an otherwise plain outfit. Here are some of my ideas for what to wear with cowboy boots!

(1) I wore an outfit similar to this a couple of nights ago. Wearing a simple blouse with skinny jeans tucked into cowboy boots is a great look. I usually don't like the "tucked-in" look for cowboy boots, but the blouse balances everything out and makes the outfit look a little girlier.

(2) A go-to outfit for me is a white shirt, scarf (usually a Lilly Pulitzer Murfee scarf), bootcut jeans and cowboy boots! It's super comfortable and can be worn year round.

(3) When you go to Wake Forest gamedays, you see a lot of variations of this third outfit. A simple dress with cowboy boots is perfect to wear to a football game, a concert, as well as class and hanging out with friends!

What do y'all wear your cowboy boots with? Let me know!

Have a great day!
