'Merica

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I wish it was sunny in CT so I could spend every waking moment outside, but alas, the weather doesn't seem to want to cooperate with anyone lately. Regardless, here are some fun "America" themed goodies for this patriotic weekend!

Possibly my favorite t-shirt....ever. It's from Rowdy Gentleman and it's just so great.

THE AMERICAN FLAG BIKINI. I'm absolutely obsessed with this thing. There are a couple of places you can order it from (but it takes a while to find a legitimate site), but I recommend Venus. They have a couple of different options in terms of styles for the swim suit but they all have the fabulous stars and stripes!

I found this Patriotic Hair Bow through Pinterest, and it's made by a brand called Pink Lemonade Designs. They have a ton of cute hairbows, a lot of them being themed for holidays and events! So many of them are patriotic!

I wish I had gotten this dress when I had the chance, it's so cute! It's a Lilly Pulitzer strapless dress with red, white, and blue fireworks on it!

Lastly, my mom just bought this Smathers and Branson needlepoint coaster set! It has 4 coasters, and each one has a different version of the American Flag on it!

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!

Senior Prank!

Hi y'all!! It's been super busy in CT for it's the last week of real school! I had skip day on Monday, prank day on Tuesday, and I have an exam on Friday. So, I thought I would show y'all some of the pictures from setting up our senior prank on Monday night/Tuesday morning!

Our theme was "End of the World" because the Mayans predicted that the world would end in 2012. Since we're the class of 2012, it seemed like an appropriate theme!

One of our "lounge-rooms" is getting demolished, so we graffitied it!

For some reason, our class has had an unusual amount of students leave, whether it be at the end of the year or in the middle of the year. So, we made "Amber Alert" posters about them and posted them around the school!

All of our bad tests and quizzes from senior spring...

Obstacle courses...

We put a watermark on hundreds of sheets of paper saying "Property of the Class of 2012"!

The BEST part of the prank was that we built a trampoline in the cafeteria!

We signed all of our names on the graffitied wall...

And I parked my car in the school amphitheater!

Yay Class of 2012! Love y'all!

Also, on a great note, I got asked to prom today! Woo hoo!

Have a great day!!

How I Organize My Vanity Desk

Hi y'all! I hope everyone is having a good week. I decided to do a post on how my makeup vanity desk is organized!

Here is the whole setup!

My stool is really pretty and light blue, but I'm kind of messy with my makeup so I cover it with a monogrammed towel.

I have pictures on the top part of the desk, as well as jewelry holders.

I have 1 necklace holder, 1 earring rack, and 1 bracelet holder. It really helps to have them all in sight so I can have a lot of options for accessorizing! Also, I have "special" hair products (Moroccan Oil, shine spray) in a bowl on the desk.

On the right side I have eye makeup (mascara, primer, concealer, eye brow pencil, false eyelashes) in the top drawer and "face makeup" (blush, tinted moisturizer, bronzer, primer, moisturizer) in the bottom drawer.

On the left side, I have eyeshadow in the top drawer and brushes in the bottom drawer.

My hair accessories...it really can't be kept organized.

How do y'all organize your vanity? Let me know!!

Have a great day!

Senior Assassination

Sorry for not posting much this week, I've been really busy! I had a couple of projects to do, it was my best friend's birthday on Wednesday (pictures to come later!!), and I've been extremely involved with a game that my class has been playing since Wednesday night. It's called Assassination, and basically it's when people are sent a target to "assassinate" with a nerf gun. IT'S REALLY INTENSE. I can't leave my house because I'll most likely get shot, but thank goodness the game is off limits on school property. All of my friends are high on paranoia and no one trusts each other. I haven't shot my target yet, but my assassin almost killed me last night! It was so scary!

Have y'all ever done something like this? Let me know! I totally feel like I'm in the Hunger Games right now, it's terrifying!

Have a great weekend! PRAY THAT I SURVIVE!

A New Level of Monogramming Craziness

My mom just recently found a monogrammer really close to where we live, so we travelled on over to drop of some things to get monogrammed! Along with a Lilly Pulitzer cardigan and a Vineyard Vines tote, I went one step further into the depths of monogramming insanity. I got my pink and green nike shorts monogrammed.

Please tell I'm not crazy!! They're SO CUTE!!

Have a great day!! I'm officially done with AP's so this whole week I have final projects and assignments, then I'm DONE!!

Prepping for Prom

Hi y'all!! I hope everyone is having a great week so far. Prom is a little less than 1 month away and I can't wait! It's stressful to find a dress and a date, but my friends and I are pulling through. It's our last big event before graduation so we're going to make the most of it!!
Our last couple of weeks of school is really oddly planned, so here's my schedule. I have exams the last week of May (but thank goodness I only have 1!), and then I'm off on my senior class trip. That's only a couple of days, and then I'm back home to get ready for the HUGE week ahead. I have my last day of high school on Monday, and then that night. I don't have school Tuesday, and then I have an award ceremony on Wednesday. Thursday is the big day...GRADUATION!

Since it's so close to prom, I've decided to show y'all my dress!

I love it love it love it love it LOVE IT! It's Lilly Pulitzer from their original Jubilee resort collection from 2007. I got it last year through Re-Lilly (which I totally recommend, I had the best experience with the site!), and Prom seems like the perfect occasion to wear this dress!

It's fully beaded and so pretty. Not to mention, it weighs like 10 pounds! It's so heavy!

For all of the high schoolers who read this blog, what are y'all wearing/did y'all wear to prom? Let me know!!

Have a great day!

Fun in the Sun!

In preparation for when senior spring really starts (meaning when it actually gets sunny and warm), I've made a list of my favorite things for hanging out outside!!

Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Sunscreen
1. Sunscreen: I would be as red as a tomato if I didn't use sunscreen when I tan. I have fair skin that burns somewhat easily (though I do get really tan in the summer), so I need sunscreen to protect my skin in the sun. I love the Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch sunscreen because it smells so good!! They also have a kind that has shimmer in the sunscreen which I think is a great idea!

2. Sunless Tanner and Bronzer: For those who try to tan and fail (I'm calling out my best friend and my father here...), there are always alternatives to the actual sun! As y'all know, I am a huge fan of Benefit Cosmetics, so I would go straight there to purchase some bronzing products! I like Sun Beam, which is basically a liquid bronzing highlighter, and Hoola, a basic bronzing powder. For the rest of the body, I've used Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer. It does look really natural when you apply it, just remember to wash your hands afterwards!

3. Beach waves: I have been loving curly hair lately, and to make hair less "perfect", I recommend the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray. It really works!

4. Lilly Lifeguard Press Gear: If anyone knows about summer, it's Lilly!

5. Bikini: I am a huge lover of Lilly Pulitzer, J. Crew, and Vineyard Vines swimsuits. They're my personal favorites and I couldn't imagine summer without them! I recently just bought an American Flag bikini and I can't wait to wear it for senior-themed pool parties in the next couple of weeks! I also like seersucker bikinis and the monogrammed bikini top at Marley Lilly!

6. Towel: Your beach towel should always be brightly colored and super fun! Lilly Pulitzer has done beach towel giveaways in the past (which my family has stocked up on), but Ralph Lauren and Vera Bradley also have some great options.

What are y'alls favorite items for hanging out in the sun? Let me know!!

Have a great day!! 30 days until graduation!!

Lifeguard Press

Hi y'all! I was sent a couple of adorable Lilly Pulitzer items from Lifeguard Press recently in exchange for a review! I love Lifeguard Press and their merchandise, especially from Lilly. I was sent a photo album and a camera case.

The prints are super cute and, of course, pink and green!

The photo album is great for senior spring because everyone is reminiscing about the past 4 years of high school! I can't wait to fill up the pages with pictures from this year!!

The camera case will come in handy as well, with all the parties at the end of the year. Also, it will be great for keeping my camera safe in college! What's a better way to protect your camera than with Lilly for Lifeguard Press?!?

Do y'all have anything from Lifeguard Press? What are your favorite items? Let me know!!

Have a great day!!

Kentucky Derby!!

The Kentucky Derby is tomorrow (which also happens to be Cinco de Mayo and my dad's birthday), so I've put together a how-to fashion post for the big event! Enjoy!

The Kentucky Derby is perfect for sporting your Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines! I prefer seersucker over anything, so I would go straight to Lilly to find a strapless dress. They have a lot of great items in pink, white, and light blue! Also, Vineyard Vines has an adorable patchwork strapless dress for the occasion.

...and you definitely can't forget about the perfect derby hat! My favorite oversize sun-hat of all time is from Marley Lilly. It's great because you can personalize it! What's better than a monogrammed hat to go with your seersucker dress?

Vineyard Vines is the official brand of the Kentucky Derby this year, and I have to say they have really outdone themselves. I have truly fallen in love with VV this year, and I think that they have great items for men! The seersucker suit is just perfect - I love, love, love it. But, if your man doesn't want to dive headfirst into preppy waters, start off with seersucker pants, a blazer, or a seersucker bowtie/tie! My brother has a trillion seersucker ties and bowties and they're great!

What do y'all think is good to wear for the Kentucky Derby? Who's going? Let me know!!

Have a great day!
