Help Me! In Search of a Crossbody Bag!

I am in desperate search two types of crossbody bags: one "nice" one, preferably tan colored, and one that I can take to parties, preferably black.

I don't know why I'm having a hard time finding a purse that I can use when I go out! My favorite of the options shown above is the black and tan Michael Kors purse.

Here are my tan options. I looove the Tory Burch on the top right!

Do y'all have any ideas or suggestions? Let me know!

Have a great day!

xx, Hannah

  2. I love the Tory Burch too!

As for a going out bag, just find anything (cheap). I had a silver crossbody bag that I used in college and it got really beat up after a while - I was glad I didn't spend a lot on it.

  5. I agree with Kimberly about finding a cheaper bag for your going out bag; I just got a cute monogrammed clutch that had an option for going crossbody. Super cute but because it's cheap, I don't mind that it gets beat up. Especially if you spend time in frat basements, haha.

The options you like were super adorable, though. My favorite was the TB one!

  6. While I agree that cheap is definitely best, this is another option.

I've been using this bag for all of college so far and absolutely love it for going out. After it had seen better days as my daytime purse, it became absolutely perfect as my nighttime bag. The nylon is especially resistant to stains and liquids and such.

  7. For the going out one, get the Dooney triple zip. You can spill all day (night) on this thing and nothing will be harmed. It was my go to in college! http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/dooney-bourke-handbag-nylon-triple-zip-crossbody-bag?ID=416140&PseudoCat=se-xx-xx-xx.esn_results

  8. I love the Tory Burch one! It is so cute! As far as the party purse I encourage you to get the Michael Kors one! I have it in navy and tan and absolutely love it! The size is perfect and the fact that it is water resistant is wonderful in case anything spills on it!

  9. I agree with Kim, buy a nice one for daytime wear,(Michael Kors makes really cute ones that are leather) but for parties, go to Target and buy a cute one there. I have one a cheap one that I bring to parties at my school, and it's soo beat up. I've left it in people's rooms, on the floor, and it's gotten spilled on so many times.

  13. For a going out bag, definitely pick something that is either durable and resilient (like the Dooney bags other ladies have suggested, which definetly do NOT look like the Dooney bags of years past - they are much more subtle) or cheap (like from Forever 21, Target, or Marley Lilly - a bonus if it's monogrammed because then you always know it's yours!). A "nice" going out bag probably isn't really necessary until you hit 21 and go to bars more than house parties (my friend has a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag and she used it every time she went out from freshman year onwards and it has broken at least twice and needed to be sent out for lengthy repairs! Not ideal!). I love the Tory bag for nice dinners out and other "classy" (haha) events! A LOT of my friends also have the Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac bags and they are also really cute.

My last tip is make sure you get something with a secure closure - make sure you keep grabby hands at bay :)

  14. I was just at the Kate Spade outlet and they have TONS of cute crossbody bags! Today and tomorrow all handbags are 40% off lowest price, and then 20% off that price. I don't know if you have an outlet near you, but if so you should totally hit it up!

  15. I have a coach cross body that I love! Fossil also makes some great ones. I have a less expensive one that I take when I go out that I got at Macy's.

    Happy Friday!

  16. i love that michael kors bag! i like that its both brown and black so you can match it with everything! that has a zipper and lots of pockets right? i would say definitely get that for your "everyday" bag.

i have Tory burch and Marc Jacobs crossbodies- but honestly even though they are nice and beautiful leather- they are either too small to fit everything, and both dont have a zipper at top! i feel like a lot of my stuff falls out-(not good when you're not paying attention/partying) so i would definitely suggest one that has a zipper on top! and get a cheaper one that you wont be upset if it gets lost/ taken from you or drinks get spilled on you. i actually found cute crossbody bags with a zipper and lots of pockets from gianni bini! (can find it at dept stores for reasonable price- great quality!) maybe even target or forever21, sometimes Urban (once you weed out the hipster stuff) can have cute crossbodies in black or tan faux leather on sale for under $20

  17. I have a black marc jacobs cross body that was perfect for going out in college and I still use it when running errands. It wasn't too expensive and could be wiped down easily. Then I have some Tory clutches in Brown and Black that were a little pricier for daytime events. They definitely would not have been able to put up with the wear and tear of college going out! I definelty suggest something that can handle going out in college! and definitely with a zipper!
