What to Wear: Tacky Christmas

I'm so excited, y'all.

Christmas is fastly approaching. Meaning, Tacky Christmas parties are right around the corner. Once Thanksgiving hits, then it is 100% Christmas all the time and I cannot wait. My roomie and I have already started decorating our room for the occasion. Also, the last weekend of school is full of Christmas-themed parties. YAY.

I literally had a heart attack when I saw this sweater. Home Alone is one of my favorite Christmas movies, and the fact "Merry Christmas, ya filthy animal" is on this sweater just kills me. I ordered it and definitely plan on wearing it this year......maybe not even to a Tacky Christmas party. It's that good. To make the outfit a little more fun and perfect for girls my age, I paired the sweater with a gold bodycon skirt. The oversize-ness of the sweater balances out the ittybitty-ness of the skirt. You can't forget the ultimate winter shoe (my darling Bean Boots), but you have to include Christmas-themed socks with them. Lastly, accessories such as themed earrings, necklaces, hats, and headbands are essential!

What are y'all wearing to your fun Christmas parties? Let me know!

Have an awesome day!

Saving the best for last

Saturday was the last gameday of my sophomore year. Even though Wake unfortunately lost against Duke (ugh), the tailgate and time I spent at the actual game was an absolute blast. Here are some pictures from the event!

Can't wait until next year!

My Bedroom 2.0

When I got back home yesterday afternoon, my mother surprised me with my newly redecorated room!

My room and bathroom were freshly repainted!

My vanity was put into my side-room and instead I have a new chair and bookshelf.

I have a TV! Yay!

Adding on to my obsession with fur and animal prints....

I absolutely love it! Thanks, Mom!

Have a great day!

Top 10 Must-Haves

I have a pretty identifiable style in that I flaunt the pieces that I love the most frequently. Vests, baseball caps, hoop earrings; they're kind of jokes within my friend group because I wear them so much. Here are my favorite items that are key to how I dress!

(1) I love that wearing cowboy boots is an acceptable thing in college down south. Whenever I wear them in CT, people look at me weirdly! My Dan Post boots are my favorite, and they literally make me feel like I'm wearing heels because of the near-3" stacked heel!

(2) It's definitely a bit much, but I can't have a pair of Nike tempo track shorts without getting them monogramed :)

(3) Whenever I'm having a bad hair day, or just don't feel like fixing my hair in the morning, my Ole Miss baseball cap is my go-to. It's getting really worn out now!

(4) It's finally gotten to be cold outside, so I've been wearing my Barbour coat pretty much every day. Definitely my favorite birthday present ever!

(5) Once I finally found the perfect fur vest, I can't find a time that I don't want to wear it. I used to think that it was a really bold choice to wear a fur vest, but they're becoming so popular that it doesn't stand out too much.

(6) Every single day of my life, I wear my Michael Kors gold watch and my Yurman clasp bracelet. Every. Single. Day.

(7) There was a time when I was known as "vest girl" in my freshman dorm...I'd say that's pretty accurate.

(8) Don't get me wrong, I love my pearl earrings. But lately, I've been wearing hoop earrings with everything. I have different sizes for different occasions. The regular (medium) sized hoops are for every day wear, and the larger hoops are for parties. Just remember, the bigger the O the bigger the HOE!

(9) I wear Bean Boots with leggings, jeans, certain dresses and skirts...even norts on certain occasions. They are beyond comfortable (especially paired with J. Crew camp socks). They're also good for a lot of occasions! I've worn them to class, to Mountain Weekend, to frat parties...they're my favorites!

(10) Aviators are just great. I have collected three pair over the past couple of years: one regular, one blue reflective, and one plastic tortoiseshell. They're really flattering and fun!

What are some of your favorite things that make up your style? Let me know!

Have an awesome weekend! It's our last home game tomorrow against Duke, and hopefully I'll go inside to the game after the tailgate to watch the Deacs win! Then, I leave on Sunday for home! Yay!

Counting the minutes...

I literally have a countdown calendar on the dashboard of my computer for when I get to go home and go to the hair salon. Every few months I get sick of my hair and get super excited to get a new cut and color. Here is some inspiration for the upcoming trip!

Blondes have more fun!

Have a great day!!

What to Wear: Thanksgiving Break

I am leaving a little bit early for Thanksgiving break (so worth it), and I am really excited for the much needed time off from school. Everything has been crazy, and we really haven't had any time off to just sleep and have time to ourselves! Sunday I leave for home, and then it's just one week of hanging out with my family, shopping, and sleeping!

Here are some outfits that I'm excited to wear over Thanksgiving break.

Fur vests are my favorite, and they would love awesome on top of a black Elsa top from Lilly! Pair it with black skinny jeans and black boots (love the over-the-knee's!) and you're good to go.

I'm a fan of short, long sleeved dresses to show off my legs! I bought Tory riding boots with some of the money I had made over the summer and they're the absolute best. They're great for fall!

This is essentially the outfit that I wore the entire Mountain Weekend...slash always. I don't know what I'd do without my Patagonia Retro-X vest or Bean Boots. I am frequently caught wearing aviators at all times (I swear I'm not a diva, haha). Lastly, LL Bean makes the best flannel shirts. Stock up!

What will y'all be wearing over Thanksgiving break? Let me know!

Have an awesome day!

My Pride and Joy: My First Mountain Weekend Cooler

I have literally never been so proud of something in my entire life. Oh my goodness the amount of time and effort that is put into painting a cooler is insane. It's such a ridiculous concept, but I was beyond determined to paint the perfect cooler!

When painting a cooler, you typically need to include 3 main things: his name, his fraternity, and the event. It's also good to include his favorite alcohol, sports teams, and state pride.

Phew! Finally done! I leave tomorrow for Mountain Weekend so it's nice to have this weight lifted off my chest!

Have a lovely day!

What to Wear: Mountain Weekend

Mountain Weekend is quickly approaching, and all my friends and I are slightly frazzled about the preparations. There is so much to get ready for just a couple of days in the woods! I know a lot of other colleges have "cabin weekends" or formals in different states, so mountain weekend is Wake Forest's equivalent.

Here are some of the things that I'm packing for the upcoming trip!

The goal of Mountain Weekend, when it comes to dressing yourself, is to stay comfy. Flannel is everywhere, and preppy essentials such as Bean boots and Barbour coats are at the top of the packing list.

It's going to be a fun weekend!

Have a great Monday!

What I'm Wearing: Fall Formal

Tonight is Tri Delta's fall semi-formal! Usually it's at the end of the semester, but there is so much going on until Christmas break that there wasn't any other time. I'm super excited!

I am wearing the fabulous Shiloh dress from Lilly Pulitzer that I bought over the summer. I can't wait to wear it, actually; we all obsessed over it at the Greenwich store! Also, I'm wearing simple jewelry and gold heels with the dress.

I'll post pictures later this weekend! Have a great weekend!

Cooler Time!

Hi y'all! Mountain Weekend is quickly approaching, and my friends and I spent last weekend collecting supplies for the coolers we are painting for our dates. I think every cooler in Winston-Salem has been bought by Wake Forest sorority girls!

Here are some pictures of the preliminary stages of my cooler painting! I promise to do a full post when everything is done, but I thought y'all would like to see how it's coming along.

Baby steps!

Any tips?

Have a great day!
