I love Jack Rogers. I've been wearing them ever since I can remember. I've had about every color at some point or another! But, Jack has been getting even better because they have monogrammed Navajo sandals now! YAY!
I have a navy pair and a turquoise pair and I love them. For some reason, they're so much more comfortable than the regular sandals! I didn't have to break them in at all, which is really strange for Jacks.
Do y'all have monogrammed Jack Rogers? What do y'all think? Let me know!
Here are some of my favorite options. You can never go wrong with a classic gold or two tone watch! Leather watches are great for the preps, and I am always wearing my tortoiseshell watch. I also love fun, bright colored watches that can be perfectly paired with Lilly!
I just bought the Michael Kors Mid-Size Runway watch and I can't take it off! The best part is that if you buy it in-store, they'll resize it to fit your wrist! I had the best experience with the saleswoman at the Greenwich store. It's so worth it!
For an inexpensive option, look at Fossil. My tortoiseshell watch is the best!
Don't forget to enter my Carolina Clover giveaway that ends Friday! Also, thanks so much to everyone who put in their two cents about getting a backpack vs. a tote bag! I ended up ordering the backpack last night! Looks like I've been converted and I'm definitely going to be switching on and off between the two!
I'm in the process of slowly collecting various items for going back to college, and recently a question has been lingering in my mind about what I'm going to haul my heavy and space-consuming books in next semester. I have been a dedicated tote bag fan since middle school; I think the last time I actually used a backpack was when I was 11 years old. But, since I'm going to be taking harder and more time consuming classes, I'm being gradually swayed into getting the classic black North Face Borealis backpack...with a pink monogram of course.
I just don't know which to choose! I have my fair share of tote bags, so it's not a case of getting a new one for the school year...but should I buy the backpack? What do y'all use for your school bag? Is one better than the other? Or, should I just get the backpack and alternate the entire school year between the two bags? Eeek!!
Hey y'all! Since Father's Day is around the corner, I'd thought I'd let y'all know about a great swimwear brand for men!
Strong Boalt is a brand based in Palm Beach that specializes in men's swimwear. Their designs are preppy and colorful; very Palm Beach! It was started in 2010 and has grown exponentially to be sold in over 100 stores!
Pair your Lilly with your man's Strong Boalt and you're good to go!
Here is my favorite pair of Strong Boalt swim trunks!
I have been getting a lot of requests lately to do a "What to Wear" to a wedding, so here it is!
Here are my favorites from Lilly. The first dress is the Wilda, and I love it. I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I got a ton of compliments! The middle dress is the MarieKate. The lace is really pretty and looks great on! The third dress is literally the most surprising dress from Lilly. What I mean is that it literally good fantastic on, but you wouldn't expect it to be so cute! It's called the Preen dress, and I bought it wayyyy in advance for a sorority formal!
The Janice Dress from Lilly is also a great option because it comes in so many different colors! It's one of the most popular options from Lilly. It's super flattering, and such as classic.
Are y'all going to any weddings this summer? What are y'all wearing? Let me know!
(1) Tory Burch Robinson Cross Body Bag: Obsessed with crossbodies, and I'm saving my money up to get this as my "nice" bag!
(2) Ray Ban Plastic Aviators: I have the metal aviators, and as much as I love them, they bend so easily! I always feel like I am going to break them! The plastic version is much more durable.
(3) Marley Lilly Monogrammed Raincoat: I plan on getting this soon, for my current raincoat is not very good!
(4) Michael Kors Watch: I love my tortoiseshell watch, but I think I'm going to invest in a nice metallic watch that isn't as dark as the tortoiseshell.
(5) Michael Kors Crossbody: Relatively inexpensive and great for going out. I'll be getting this soon!
(6) Tory Burch Amanda Boot: As soon as these are available again...and as soon as I have saved enough money...I will definitely be investing in these! They're perfect.
(7) Cowboy Boots: When I go to Jackson Hole in a month for vacation, I'm going to pick up some nice cowboy boots! I havea really cheap pair from like 5 years ago that I've worn all year to parties, but they're going to fall apart soon! I know it's going to be an ordeal to choose a good pair, but based on what I've found on the internet, I love the Dan Post Wynona boots and the Lucchese Tumbled Saffia boot. I'll probably change my mind if I see them in person and try them on!
There are a lot of things that you're going to forget about when you pack for college. There are also a lot of things that you'll think that you won't need, but you actually do! Here are some of the items that I think are necessary in your dorm room!
(1) Power Surge Protector
(2) Brita Pitcher
(3) Mini Steamer
(4) Alarm Clock
(5) Bed Risers
(6) Collapsable Stool
(7) Scarf Hanger
(8) Trash Can (I put a monogram sticker on it!)
(9) Plastic Shower Flip Flops
I hope y'all have enjoyed this dorm room series! When it gets closer to school, I'll post more about my own dorm room plans!
Hi y'all! This is the second to last day of my dorm room series! Today I'll be talking about the best foods and drinks to have in your dorm room year round.
I think that the Lilly Pulitzer for Lifeguard Press collection is great, especially their drinkwear. I got a lot of assorted drinkwear during Big/Little revelation week, so I never run out of wine glasses and cups, but these are great because they're dishwasher safe. You don't have to worry about ruining the creative genius of your sorority sisters! My best friend gave me the Lilly wine glasses for my birthday and I use them probably every day! The tumblers are also great because there are so many in one set!
I like to keep diet cranberry juice in my room, as well as a 12 pack of Diet Coke under my bed. Water is easy because I'll just use my Brita pitcher to filter the dorm water. Crystal Light packets are a lifesaver because I'm one of those people that gets really bored with water pretty easily. Some people like to keep milk in their room because they have their own cereal in the morning (instead of going to a dining hall or Starbucks to get food), but I never had any.
I never kept "real" food in my dorm room because I would rather go to the Pit or Benson to get meals. Snack foods are the best foods to have in your room. I would get a bag of apples from the grocery store and they would last me a while. My friends and I would also take bananas from our main dining hall to put in our rooms. If I overslept or needed a snack, I had an unlimited supply of Luna Bars and Special K Meal Bars. I looove craisins, almonds, and granola as well! My hall had an obsession with chips and salsa, so I always made sure to have some in my room! Lastly, for the sometimes much-needed pig out moments, Golden Oreos were a favorite of my friends!
My closet in my freshman dorm room taught me a lot: You need to make really good use of the small space your have, and I have way too many clothes. I can honestly say I'm not going to bring back at least half of what I took to college. It gets to be a hassle, and I really didn't wear much of it!
I used mostly the pink plastic hangers from the Container Store, but I had a couple of multi-hangers that I really recommend. You make a really efficient use of space with them so your clothes are packed tightly together.
For shoes, I had a huge bin that I put them all in except for my nicer heels which I kept in shoe bags in another basket. But, through the process of trial and error, I will definitely not be using this method in the fall! I got really sick of digging around for shoes. I also learned that I don't need to take every single pair of Jack Rogers I own on top of multiple other pairs of flip flops and sandals. The Container Store has a great dorm section of their website, and now I've found a couple of different options for storing my shoes! Also, depending on the room and closet you have, a lot of people had the hanging-door shoe bag. I'm not going to use one next year, though, because I'm pretty sure the closet I'm sharing with my wonderful roomie isn't really compatible with one!
I monogramed everything, like my laundry bag, towel wrap, and towels. I go a little bit overboard, but everyone knows what things are mine! I looove my laundry bag; it's very similar to the preppy options I found here. Marley Lilly has really cute towel wraps. Lastly, my mom has a talent of finding everything on sale, so she found some Polo Ralph Lauren towels that we got monogrammed later on.
Literally everything useful can be found at the Container Store. Drawer dividers were really nice for my bra and underwear drawer, and don't forget a lint roller! I have the exact heat-styling caddy shown above, and it was great for keeping my counter clutter free. I was really lucky because my room had a built-in sink! So, it will be a little bit of an adjustment keeping everything in a communal bathroom in my suite in the fall. I also used the pink and orange bath caddy shown above for my shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Also, make sure to buy a delicates bag for when you do laundry!
I used my desk as a place to put literally everything. I had a trillion wine glasses and Lilly cups, my printer, my schoolwork, Tri-Delt stuff, as well as like 5 picture frames piled on my desk. My goal is to keep my desk next semester more organized!
Wake Forest provided us with nice desks with a lot of room for storage. But, I definitely overthought and overpacked my desk accessories.
You will need:
pencils (regular, mechanical)
extra printer and lined paper
post-its, mini note pads, etc.
All other things are unnecessary and just clutter up your desk!
I would advise getting a printer to keep in your room. I used mine all the time first semester, but not as much second semester because I spent more time in the library and just found it easier to print things there. You can keep it on or under your desk, or share with your roommate! My dad got a new computer a year or two ago and it came with a free printer, so he just gave it to me to take to college! I know Apple does some kind of student deal like that.
Your desk is a great place to put your picture frames. Buy your picture frames from cute gift stores or even places like TJ Maxx and Target, or craft your own! I'm going to be crafting a lot of picture frames this summer (for my future little, for me and my roommate, etc.) so I'll definitely post some DIY tutorials, but check out Pinterest for some great ideas!
What do y'all put on your dorm room desks? Let me know!
