GO DEACS

Sorry for the really obnoxious title. And for the fact that I have neglected to post in forever. I have been really busy with back to school festivities and haven't thought much about blogging! It would be super awesome if y'all could comment with post requests, too!

We had our first gameday last night against Presbyterian, and while I actually didn't go to the game (so disappointed in myself, I was at the tailgate the entire time socializing and then went back to campus with some friends and ate pizza), we got some really cute pictures!

I'll try to be more consistent with posting!

Have a great weekend!

I'm all packed!

Hi y'all! I've been super inconsistent with posting and I'm really sorry! I've had a bit of writer's block, plus all that has been on my mind has been getting ready for the drive down to Wake Forest. I know I've missed the boat for the girls going down early for recruitment, but I thought that I would show y'all how I packed all my things to go to school.

All of my clothes, bedding, and other dorm goodies were kept in our guest room (this is not everything though!).

I made a huge list of everything that I wanted to bring to college. It does seem like a lot, but it's really not! I literally just sat in my room and looked around and wrote down everything in my line of vision that I wanted to bring to school. Later, I'm going to go through the entire list and officially cross of the items I've packed.

I didn't really want to pack all my clothes in big duffel bags (which I did last year and I wasn't a huge fan of), so instead I organized everything in tote bags. For example, tops were in one tote, then norts and leggings, then t-shirts, and dresses!

I have a big plastic container for my "going out" clothes and shoes to put under my bed so they can stay separate from the clothes that I actually wear every day.

Notice my new backpack?

I have two vertical containers to go under my bed; one is my costume box, and the other will be for food. Right now I'm just packing random items like shampoo and makeup in it so it has a home when we're driving down. Then, when I get to Winston-Salem, I'll make a Target trip to fill up the food container.

I have a pink carry-on suitcase (my favorite) to put in the front seat of my car for the hotel on Friday night. It's also good to have just under my bed at school for weekend trips and going back home!

I have a hanging jewelry case to put in my closet. I love it because it won't be taking up hardly any space!

I have other containers to go under my bed that are currently holding hangers and some bedding items.

That's basically it! I have to put all of this in my mom's and my car later today, which won't be bad at all. I'm not bringing half the clothes that I brought last year, and I definitely de-cluttered my packing!

Also, just a quick thing, it's come to my attention that there are some Tumblr/Insta/Twitter accounts called the Pink and Green Prep that are not mine! If you want to follow me on social media, please click the links on my sidebar. I am under the name "hannahkate131" on instagram and twitter, not the Pink and Green Prep. I just don't want there to be a mix up! I've also seen some reposting of my pictures on instagram without my permission/knowledge! Please ask me before if anyone wants to repost anything! Thanks so much!

Have a great day!

Ivy Halls Dorm Goody

Hi y'all! I was so happy to find out that I had won dWa's giveaway for a monogrammed pillow from Ivy Halls on Etsy! I had previously posted about them in my dorm room series, and I think their dorm bedding is adorable.

My dorm room is (of course) going to have pink and green in it, so I chose this pink and green striped pillow.

This is going to be perfect when I'm back at Wake on FRIDAY!

Have a great day!

What to Wear: Country Concert

I am super excited for tonight because I am going to a Kenny Chesney/Eric Church concert in New York! I saw Kenny Chesney last summer before I went to school, and I got really lucky this year and am able to see him again!

Here are some outfit ideas for what to wear to a country concert.

This is a more casual outfit guide. I love tops from Tobi and Necessary Clothing, and my love of "jorts" (jean shorts) when going out is perfect for a country concert. Never forget your cowboy boots!

I think I'm going to wear something along the lines of the outfit guide shown above! Last year when I went to see Kenny, I wore a black dress and boots. I actually have yet to decide what I'm wearing tonight!!

Have a great weekend!

How to Pack the Perfect Formal Clutch

The new school year is quickly approaching, and with that comes date functions and formals! I would highly suggest getting a cute clutch to carry with you to events. They're really useful and I wish that I had them at some of the parties I went to last year!

I never go anywhere without my iPhone, and I definitely like bringing them to big events so I can take pictures! This Kate Spade wallet is really thin, so there's the perfect amount of room for some cash and your student ID/driver's license. I try not to bring makeup in clutches because I'm usually busy with other things instead of re-applying eyeliner and whatnot, but I like to bring some lipgloss as the bare minimum! Tic tacs are perfect for clutches, as well! And if you get sick of your hair easily, like me, then you'll definitely want to take some twistbands or a hair clip or something!

I hope this helps!

Also, don't forget that today is the last day to enter my giveaway to win a set of Lilly fabric wine glasses!

Have a lovely day!

What to Wear: College Parties

Hiii y'all! Tons of incoming freshman who read this blog have requested that I write a "what to wear to parties" post to help them prepare for the upcoming year! I looove going out, so this was a very fun post to write!

I am making a new-school-year resolution to put in effort and actually look nice for parties. I'm going to start off this post by saying that when people go out at Wake forest, we do not wear typical "going out" clothes. It's pretty easy at Wake Forest to be really casual when you go to parties...they're all in really gross basements since we don't have legitimate fraternity houses.  Our parties are 9 times out of 10 in a fraternity basement in an off campus house - not really somewhere where you'd want to wear a nice top and heels. It's so foreign and weird to me that girls at other schools wear nice clothes to parties! Sometimes I literally will wear an oversize t-shirt and norts. No joke. But, I really want to make an effort this year to look cute!

I like wearing a bandage skirt with a flowy top so I'm not wearing one skin-tight outfit. H&M and Forever 21 have really good bandage mini skirts. They're really cheap and you'll definitely get a ton of use out of them. I have a sparkly black top that I wear out a lot (either with a bandage skirt or leggings), but flowy camis or oversize crop tops are nice to balance out the skirt.

I buy jean short ("jorts") at H&M and American Eagle. They're just so dang comfortable and perfect when it's really hot outside! I've recently become obsessed with off-the-shoulder tops and dresses, so the top by Necessary Clothing is way too cute! Necessary Clothing is a really good website for going out tops, as well as the trusty Forever 21. You have to kind of search and not mind some pretty offensive and trashy clothing, but it's worth it! Plus, they're really inexpensive so you won't mind if they get ruined at parties. Frat basements can get pretty rowdy!

Again, with jeans, I like to balance out the skin-tightness of the bottom by wearing a flowy top. Lilly Pulitzer actually has super cute tops for going out! The Sunset top is part of the new fall collection and its soo cute! Also, the Wakely is great for jeans and jorts. I really like the long sleeved crop tops by American Apparel as well!

Lastly, everyone needs a LBD for going out! I know they seem babysized, but sometimes it's super fun to wear a little, tight dress! One time I wore a black dress with tights and "frat flats" to a party in the winter, and I loved it! You can wear them year round! As I said before, I loooooove the off the shoulder style and the dress shown above is no exception! The H&M jersey dress is a favorite of mine because they are like $12 and come in a ton of colors (if you don't want to wear black). I know I have it in black, neon pink, and cheetah print! Tobi also has great dresses (and tops...and leggings...and everything) for parties.

I try not to wear nice jewelry to parties, but places like Forever 21 and Claire's are good for cheap earrings that are fun to wear out. It's good to spice up an otherwise all black outfit! I have a couple of places where I put my student ID and cell phone: if I'm wearing cowboy boots, I'll put both in the boot; if I'm wearing Chuck's, I'll put my ID in the bottom of the shoe and hold my cellphone; if I'm wearing a fanny pack (don't judge; we Tri-Delts frequently wear our neon fanny packs to parties) I'll put both in it; and if I'm wearing flip flops or flats, I'll put my ID in my bra. You gotta do what you gotta do! But, I'm going to be a little bit more normal and bring a crossbody to parties next semester. I bought a Michael Kors nylon crossbody that (hopefully) won't get ruined if beer and punch is spilled on it. My favorite shoes to wear to parties are cowboy boots and Chuck's. It's a tradition at Wake for sorority girls to wear Chuck Taylor Converse in their specific sorority's colors and then decorate them with sharpie. I have blue Chucks and they are absolutely destroyed from frat basement grossness, but I love wearing them out!

I hope this helps y'all! I'll try to include some OOTD's from when I go to parties this next school year!

Have a great day!

xx, Hannah

Oh, and I have 19 days until I'm back at Wake :)

I FINALLY BOUGHT JEANS.

I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but this is a big freaking deal! I have avoided trying on pants of any kind for years, so I finally bit the bullet and did the unavoidable.

I went to Lord and Taylor with my mom last weekend to look for new jeans. I was on a mission to find skinnies that I could wear with boots in the fall, and bootcuts to wear with cowboy boots. The girls at the Lilly store gave me suggestions about brands to try out, like Paige and Joe's. First off, I was surprisingly disappointed at how small a selection of jeans L&T had! They had a very small amount of jeans per brand, so it was really hard to find what I was looking for. Secondly, there were no low rise jeans! Literally everything was mid-rise. I was very let down at first, but I still brought in a good 15 pairs of jeans to try on.

I only found 1 pair that were even remotely cute, let alone well fitting. I bought Paige bootcut jeans and they were really cute. I left the store with half of what I was looking for so I was happy.

Earlier this week, I went to the Westchester Mall with some girls from work to go shopping. I dragged them into Lucky Brand Jeans since I heard that they were super comfortable and very well-fitting. I was literally SO HAPPY because the first pair of skinny jeans I tried on fit perfectly and looked amazing! They were the Sofia Skinny, which is a skinny jean for a curvy body shape. I don't really think of myself as a curvy person, but I absolutely love the way that they fit! I tried on another pair of jeans, but I didn't like them as much so I found a pair of Sofia bootcut jeans to try on instead. Unsurprisingly, I loved them too!

The salesperson that helped me was so helpful and really nice! After going to a couple of stores in the Westchester, it was nice to have a salesperson who actually spoke to us!  I am so so so happy and I can't wait to wear my three brand new pairs of jeans!

Have a great day!

Crazy for RahRah!

As y'all know, I looove Rah Rah Designs. They have the most adorable monogrammed bikini tops, ranging from plain to chevron to patriotic!

The lovely ladies at Rah Rah just sent me a chevron monogrammed bikini, and I can't wait to wear it! I have a plain monogram top, but the pink chevron is just so dang cute!

The tops fit really well. They're great because of how personalized they are, so no one else at the beach or pool will have a bikini as cute as you!

Even better, the ladies at Rah Rah sent me a 20% of discount code, good until the end of the day! Use SUM20 at checkout to receive the discount!

Happy Shopping!
