Lilly Pulitzer Spring 2014: First Round

Hi y'all! Lilly Pulitzer just released the beginning of their Spring 2014 collection. Here are some of my favorite pics from the line.

The Eaton is such a cute shift! It comes in two adorable prints, and I'm glad to see that Lilly is making its way back to the classic shift dress. Everyone was obsessed with the Dusk top last summer, and I love that it's back this year! The Iona shell would look great with my favorite Luxury Capris! Lastly, the Colby Pintuck top comes in three pretty colors that would be great to dress up or dress down for class and for going out to dinner.

What are y'alls favorite items? Let me know!

What I Wear: Makeup

Here is my daily makeup routine!

(1) If I'm tan, I don't wear face makeup, but if I'm not tan, I wear Garner BB Cream.

(2) I use Maybelline Superstay Concealer.

(3) My favorite mascara in the entire world is Benefit Bad Gal Lash! The waterproof version is great too. I'll wear that when I go out so I don't have raccoon eyes.

(4) The Naked 2 Palette is the best!

(5) I love the L'Oreal Gel Liner or the Maybelline Brown eyeliner pencil.

(6) Lastly, my mom gave me Chanel blush from their holiday line and I absolutely love it!

Any makeup products I should know about?

Have a great day!

What to Wear: Formals and Date Functions

I have received a ton of requests to post about formal and date function dresses! I previously did a post about the formal dresses that I currently own, so check it out

There are two events that I get dressed up for: semi-formals (most likely a Tri Delt semi) and date functions (most likely a fraternity event). Our Tri Delt d-funcs are usually themed, so we wear costumes instead of nice dresses. I definitely dress differently according to whether it's a guys or girls hosted event. For example, I'll wear a nice Lilly dress to a Tri Delt semi-formal and a bandage dress to a fraternity date function.

adrienne dress | judith march dress (past style) | preen dress (past style)

The three dresses shown above are great because they're all appropriate lengths and not too showy. I have the Preen dress is green and I am so pumped to wear it for something because it's so fun!

These dresses are a little bit tighter or a little bit shorter. If I have a really short dress, I make sure it's long sleeved so that I am not showing everything. It's all about balance!

Some places that I like to look for nice dresses are: ASOS, Lilly Pulitzer, Revolve, Tobi, and Nasty Gal.

Have a great day!

How I Prepare for Formals

My friends and I look forward to events like these because there are not that many chances to get nicely dressed while at college! Here are the usual steps that we go through before a nice date function or formal.

(1) Ask your date! This probably takes most of the effort (haha). I've taken a motley crew to my formals and date functions...ya never know what's going to happen!

(2) Choose your dress! I have my dresses for the next couple of formals picked out already.

(3) Work out! Gotta look your best in your dress!

(4) Get a tan! I have just recently started getting spray tans with my friends before big events. It really pays off!

(5) Get a mani/pedi! Always fun to primp before an event.

(6) Fix your hair! I usually wear my hair straight for formals and d-funcs.

(7) Do your makeup! I looove to do makeup, and I always do my friends makeup before we go out. Make sure you wear waterproof eye makeup, it's worth it!

(8) Have fun!

Have a great day!

What to Wear: Booties

Yesterday I finally found the perfect pair of booties! I was very happy, especially since I'm heading back to school in a couple of days. They're the Milan Bootie from Tory Burch, and the best part was that they were on double-sale! A lot of booties that I had been looking at looked either like I was going horseback riding or they were just super ratchet...not really the look I'm going for!

milan wedge bootie | animal print sweater | black jeggings | jersey sweater dress | multi-color chandelier earrings | long cardigan | skinny jeans

The three outfits above are my favorite picks for what to wear with booties: going out, with a dress, and casual. I loooove animal print, especially when paired with my favorite gold hoops. To balance out the proportions of the top, wear black leggings or jeggings on the bottom. A shapeless dress with tights and fun jewelry is a really cute look too. Lastly, dress up an oversize, long cardigan with skinny jeans and your new booties!

Have a great day!

How I Organize My Planner (Updated!)

Since the last time that I posted about my planner, I have definitely changed my organization style!

I write everything in pencil, just in case my plans change or homework is adjusted. For big events, I will block out the day in colored pencil. The picture shown above is for next week, which happens to be spring recruitment! For the occasion, everything is colored blue to show some delta love!

Right now I'm using post-it notes for blog post scheduling, but I'll also use them for to do lists and additional information about homework.

Here is a full week from October that includes homework assignments, major assignments (highlighted!), and a large social calendar for that weekend. I'll also cross off homework once I've finished it.

Have an awesome day!!
