What to Wear: Carolina Cup

Hi y'all! One of the biggest events in the South in Spring, Carolina Cup, is quickly approaching! I went last year and I am definitely going again this year! It's going to be a lot of fun, especially since I just decided which Lilly I am wearing for the occasion.

liz shift dress |  richelle strapless sweetheart dress
morrison lace overlay dressdelia shift dress

Wear Lilly. Like it's just the thing to do. Everyone looks exactly the same but it's totally fine...Lilly dresses are adorable and easy to wear, especially when paired with your Jacks and monogrammed derby hat!

I'll be posting sooner to the event with what I'm wearing. I'm super excited for it!

Are y'all going to Carolina Cup? Let me know!

Top 5 Favorite Netflix Shows

I am literally obsessed with Netflix. It's kind of sad actually how much time I spend on Netflix binges. The onctinuous play is a dangerous yet beautiful thing because I actually put in 0 effort to watch three seasons of a certain TV show back-to-back-to-back. Now that I am finally done with the first round of exams this semester, I can get back to catching up on my Netflix shows! Here are my top 5 favorite shows so far that I've seen on Netflix.

(1) I AM SO OBSESSED WITH THIS SHOW IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. I have watched every episode countless times, and then I got my mother and brother hooked on the show too. I love the Buzzfeed has a quiz now for "Which New Girl character are you?"....I was CeCe. So happy.

(2) I mean it's only fitting that FNL is one of my favorite TV shows because of my extreme love for Connie Britton. She is just great. Also, I would marry Coach Taylor in a second. Not at all lying, he is the perfect man...

(3) So funny, I can't even. I randomly got hooked on it last summer and then showed it to my family and now all we watch is Arrested Development and New Girl. It's so good and really clever, and I also took the Buzzfeed Quiz for which character I am...and I'm Lindsey! Not necessarily the best thing but my family thinks it's quite accurate. Buster and Lucille are my favorite characters ever.

(4) I watched this over Christmas Break and it is so addictive. Y'all have to watch it, I can't even explain how good it is!

(5) The Office is such a classic! Rainn Wilson actually came to Wake recently and gave a speech about his new website, but it was so cool to see DWIGHT in Wait Chapel!!

What are y'alls favorite shows on Netflix? Let me know!

Have a great day!!

Spring Break Essentials: Bikini Time

Spring break countdown....less than 3 weeks left....prepare prepare prepare! While I do love my Lilly Pulitzer swimwear, I've decided to switch it up and find some solid colored classic bikinis! Victoria's Secret has an excellent swim selection. I literally couldn't choose when I was ordering some with my mom! Here are my favorites from the website.

We ordered a couple and I can't wait to wear them in a couple of weeks! So excited!

Where do y'all like to get bikinis? Let me know!

Have a great day!!

Winter College Essentials

I have given up on all creativity for my outfits, so I've been sticking to my "winter essentials" until I can break out my Lilly and Jacks! Here are some of my (and pretty much every single girl at Wake) favorite items to wear on campus in the winter.

(1) Vests: Enough said.

(2) Printed Scarves: My personal favorite is my new cheetah print scarf that I bought from a sale at Wake.

(3) Pixie Pant: Love my J. Crew Pixies!

(4) Oversize Sweater: I just really find it hard to wear fitting clothes in the winter...

(5) Hunter Boots: There was too much snow last week to actually wear Bean Boots! Plus, every sorority girl has to have her rain boots....

(6) J. Crew Camp Socks: I think I have them in every color! Great when paired with Bean Boots.

(7) Barbour: An every day essential. A cheaper alternative is the waxed jacket from J. Crew.

(8) Bean Boots: I wear them in the snow, to class, to the library...I've also worn them to parties on a few occasions...

(9) Slippers: I have some Tory Burch slippers that I got on sale and I wear them daily. If I'm feeling super lazy when I'm going to the library, I'll wear yoga pants, slippers, and a Patagonia.

(10) Gingham/Plaid Shirt: My favorites are from L.L. Bean and J. Crew.

(11) Patagonia Pullover: I have a bright purple one, and I think every single guy at Wake has the exact same printed one...but they're really comfy and warm!

Have a great day!

Top 5 Ways to Stay Healthy in College

There's three weeks until Spring Break, and my friends and I all started our bikini-body diets last week. We usually eat fairly healthy, minus Friday and Saturday's (because who actually follows their diets at Late Night Subway...no one). But, we're all super excited to be on the beach for break, so we're making the extra effort to be as health conscious as possible! Here are five easy ways to stay healthy at college!

(1) It sounds stupid and really basic, but just by carrying a water bottle with you, you're definitely more motivated to drink water. I bought a cute purple water bottle when I came back from winter break and I carry it with me everywhere now! Also, when you drink water, it fills you up more so you don't snack as much! I have made the effort to not drink Diet Coke anymore (it's been one week so far...and it's a struggle) and having a water bottle with me at all times has helped me increase my water intake.

(2) Only keep healthy foods in your dorm room! If something is readily available, like chips or candy, I will 100% eat it. I'm really too lazy to go to the mini-mart on campus if I'm already in my room, so if I don't already have it in my food drawer, then I'm not going to make the effort to go buy it. Instead, my roommate and I keep frozen grapes, nutrition bars, and almonds in our room for when we're hungry.

(3) Schedule a workout into your daily calendar! I use iCal and Reminders for everything, and if I specifically put in "Gym for 45 minutes" into my daily schedule, I will 100% do it. Since I've been working out regularly again, I feel so much better and I feel like my days are so much more accomplished!

(4) Following up on planning things on iCal and Reminders, I'm crazy and like to plan out practically minute by minute of my day. So, instead of putting "lunch" or "dinner," I'll put "Salad" or "Veggie burger with pita chips and hummus" in Reminders. This is just a little way to keep it in my head that I should go for a salad instead of Chick Fil A when I'm in Benson, or get a healthy alternative to a wrap and chips when I'm at the Pit!

(5) Snacking isn't all bad, especially when you're sensible about it! I'll get lunch around 11-12 every day, and by 3 I'm always starving. My best friend and I always go to the mini-mart at 3:15 (when we're done with class) so grab a snack to bring to the library. Mine usually consist of a dried fruit and nut mix, and it's so good! It also fills me up with a little amount, which is great to hold me over until dinner.

Do y'all have any stay-healthy tips? Let me know!

Have a great day

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day, single or in a relationship! Considering I'm eternally single, I don't have any romantic plans for the night...unless you consider a mixer and partying with my friends romantic!

Here is my favorite love song of all time...plus this blog needs a little more Queen Bey....

Have a great day!

What I Wear: Jewelry

I have received a lot of requests on what jewelry I wear daily, so here it goes!

I typically don't wear that much jewelry...it varies from season to season (for example, I'll wear a colorful bracelet stack in the summer with a Lilly dress rather than in the winter), but I usually wear the same jewelry every day.

I wear this watch with everything.

The Yurman clasp bracelet was a present to myself over the summer, and I got the pearl cuff for Christmas!

I also bought this for myself over the summer!

Here is my beautiful birthday present from this year...I absolutely LOVE it!

And I pretty much wear the same two pair of earrings for everything! I sometimes put in little studs for my double piercing, but I'm not very good about it!

What jewelry do y'all wear every day? Let me know!

Sorority Style: Letter Shirts

Every so often, my sorority wears the same themed t-shirts to class collectively as a chapter! Last Thursday, we had "Fun Letters" day, which is essentially wearing a sewn-on letters t-shirt in a fun print.

Letters shirts are simple and a great way to show off sorority pride. It took me a while to find a good website with a lot of different options, but I have finally found the perfect store! The Embroidery Shop is an online shop that has sorority letters for all sororities in the best prints, even Lilly! Also, you can get them in so many different styles: crew neck t-shirts, v-necks, sweatshirts, and long sleeve t-shirts! I have a couple in my shopping cart that I'm really excited about!

Here are my four favorites so far...I literally want every single one but that's just a tad excessive, don'tcha think?

Stock up on your letter shirts and pass them down to your lineage!

Have a great day!

What to Wear: Basketball Game

Hi y'all! I hope everyone had a great Monday. My friends and I have been going to a lot of basketball games lately to support our Deacs! They're nice events to go to because they are not all-day fiasco's like football games. Don't get me wrong, I love tailgates and football, but they can be exhausting and really time consuming. Basketball games are great things to go to if you don't want to get dressed up and need something to do! Here are a couple of outfits that I've come up with for basketball games.

You can't go wrong wearing a typical sorority girl outfit! I live in long sleeve t-shirts, lululemon leggings, and cowboy boots. I found a great website for sorority letter shirts (post to come soon!), and they're a great way to show your sorority's support for your basketball team! Since it's so dreary and gross outside (I hate February), an oversize knit sweater and skinny jeans with tall riding boots are perfect to stay comfortable but cute at the same time.

Have a great day!
